A friend of mine recently told me about arriving home and finding their house in total darkness because they forgot to leave the lights on. To gain entry to the main door, they searched for their bunch of keys but had difficulty finding the correct one. Given the circumstances they took a long time to find the right key in the darkness.
Apart from the darkness, the reason it took so long to gain access is because they were selecting the wrong key from the bunch. It would have been better for them to slow down and take time to search and locate the right key first. I believe this is a powerful example which can be applied to many aspects of our life. If we want doors opened in our life, especially in times of darkness, we must slow down and use care in choosing the right key. By doing this, we can save ourselves from wasted years, extensive heartache, and distress.
I am sure that someone who is reading this blog right now needs a door opened for them! You need a breakthrough from something that has been plaguing you for a long time. Or you just might be stagnated, as it’s time to move to a better professional, spiritual, relational, or financial level. No matter what it is, we all need doors opened for us at one point in time or another. But the truth is, most times we don’t have the ability to open these doors ourselves in all aspects. What we need is someone higher than us, who has our best interest at heart, and has the love and care to champion our cause.
After you finished reading the above you might be thinking, where can I get someone to open doors for me and turn around my current situation? In this regard, you might be tempted to look to earthly individuals with authority and influence to lend a supportive hand. Others might simply want to continue doing it alone and relying on self for success. However, today I offer you an alternative. I offer you the one who can open any door, I offer you Jesus Christ. Jesus does not simply have the key; He has the Master Key! He can unlock anything we are facing, even though it might look dark and dismal and it may have been so for years.
Let me tell you about this Jesus Christ, who we can go to boldly because He has the authority to change any situation. Hear is what the book of Colossians says about Him.
Colossians 2:2-3 (NIV) – “My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Colossians 2:9-10 (NIV) – “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.”
Colossians 2:13-15 (NIV) – “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”
Colossians 1:12-20 (NIV) – “and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Now go back and read over Colossians 1:12-20. Seriously, go back and slowly read this passage of God’s word! Isn’t it beautiful, to say the least! This is who our Lord and Master is, the son of God, sitting on the right hand of the Heavenly Father with everything under His feet and subjected to Him. Jesus is truly divine in all aspects and it is He who controls all things, He was before all things, He created all things, and He will reconcile all things back to Himself.
Aptly placed next to God, He was with God from the beginning when God said, “Let us create man.”, and He will be with us in the end when there is a new heaven and a new earth. Because Jesus knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), he can provide the wisdom and knowledge to not only bring us to the right door, but also has the power and authority to open it.
Today, I want to tell someone that they should cease and desist from running ‘to and fro’ for help. Ease up on looking for help from man, but instead go to God first. You just need to let go of doubt, trust Him a bit more, and have faith.
My friend, stay the course and go to the Master, for He is not only the Master Key; He is the Key.

Powerful word Dane! Choosing the right key/s in any aspect of one’s life is important. The wrong key could lead us down a path of destruction, frustration, unhappiness, illness or even death. Staying in the light of God’s word allows us easy access to the Master Key, Christ Himself. He is the author and finisher of our faith. So who is better to trust than the one with the key to unlock every door in our lives. But to access the Master Key we must show consistency…

Good reminder when we are seeking for a resolution of an issue or striving to attain some goal. I think we as Christian’s and I am speaking mainly about myself, need to be more conscious with out walk and relationship with him. Because he is not visibly there with us like someone in the natural world, I tend to forget to to go to him first for help and then depend on my own strength or the strength of others.
But this is a good reminder that God is always there with us. He is the food we eat and the air we breathe, He is the clothes that we wear and ground we walk on, He is the I am that I am. It’s also a powerful thought to know that we are also right now in this very moment seated with him in power. As we are the body of Christ, we are right next to God at His throne. We have full access to the Master Key.
