This week, someone called me and asked if I could explain the gospel of Jesus Christ and salvation in two minutes while they recorded it. They were doing this as part of a Bible study course on evangelism. I kindly accepted the offer and made the 2-minute audio recording. This exercise made me think about my preparedness to explain God’s salvation at a moment’s notice and also God’s grand design. So, with this backdrop, this blog was birthed.
However, before I commence, I would like to say that there are many ways to tell someone about God, and I would recommend that before beginning to witness to someone, you pray and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and the words to say. My words below is just me crafting something in a more structured way that you can possibly extract from when witnessing.
START
“I want to start by establishing that there is only one true God! He is the God of the Bible, who is known by many names, but let’s refer to him as Jehovah God for this blog.
Many people would like you to believe that there is no God. They propagate that a big bang took place and that this diversity of life we see came out of nothing (universal void). But pause for a moment and look around at the wonder that adorns this earth: the ocean with its abundant life, the vast amount of vegetation and fruits, the various types of animals (flying, crawling, walking), the seasons that nature births and replicates like clockwork at the appointed time, and the wonder of the human body with all its intricacies and complexities. Clearly all this must indicate to you that some divine master builder is at work, right? (Romans 1:19-21).
I say that “chaos cannot create complexity,” nor can an inanimate object produce life! Have you ever seen or heard about something that does not have life (an inanimate object) giving birth to a living entity? Can a stone create a living human with flesh and bones and enable it with a reproductive system to produce after its kind? Can a stone, rock, dirt, dust, or a void do this by themselves? The answer is no!
Jehovah God, the living one, is the one who formed the world. In the first book of the bible, Genesis 1:5 says, “And the evening and the morning were the first days.” In this instance, the clock started, and the concept of time was born. Now, in the last book of the Bible, the word of God declares that time will be no more (Revelation 10:6-8). So, God stepped out of eternity and created time, which is why we call Him the “Alpha and Omega” to denote the beginning and the end, the first and the last (Isaiah 44:6). Everything in life has a beginning and an ending, but God is the one who lives before the beginning, and exist after all endings. Hallelujah…!
What am I saying here? I am saying that God created this beautiful world for us and gave us use for a limited time. It all started in the Garden of Eden, where the first man and woman were created (Adam & Eve). Jehovah God wanted to love them and be in their presence as any father would like to do with their children. Unfortunately, Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sinned, and they lost their position and, above all, their relationship and access to the Heavenly Father (Jehovah). Sin drove this separation between God and man. This is what sin does: it creates separation. This is why God dislikes sin: because it forms this barrier between Him and us, and He wants to love and be close to us.
Since God knows everything that will happen in our time, He prepared for the fall of man by designing a plan to send Jesus Christ (Yeshua) even before time began (John 17:5, John 8:58). Jesus was sent to die on the cross for us because, without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22).
So, the Son of God came to wash away sin and remove this barrier that blocks us from gaining access to and enjoying God. Now, in return, God asks us one thing—He asks us to love. He asked us to love in the Old Testament and in the New Testament as the following scriptures indicate.
Deuteronomy 6:4-6 (KJV) 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: 5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Matthew 22:36-37 (KJV) 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
1 John 3:16-18 (ESV) 16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17 But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? 18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
This is our primary goal while we live here on earth. Jesus has lovingly and sacrificially removed this sin barrier, allowing us full access to God. We now have a direct contact with the source, and that source is love because God’s word declares in 1 John 4:16: “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” Yes, Jesus has placed us at the head of the fountain, at the epicentre of pure love.
Let me ask you this. How can you be touched by the source of anything and not exhibit elements of that source? If you touch fire, you will get burned; if you touch water, your hands will be wet. If you touch the light of God, you cannot help but also be illuminated with Love for God is Love.
You should start showing love, as defined by God in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, getting baptized, and becoming born again (Romans 6:23, John 14:6, John 3:3-6 , John 3:16–18). By doing this, you will become a conduit through which God can shine, thus allowing others to see and know Him (I.e. As a God of love)
Being born again means that you will gain access to a heavenly kingdom (Romans 14:17, Matthew 7:21, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, John 3:5) filled with peace, joy, power, and righteousness, all built on the foundation of love.
I must say that each kingdom has specific characteristics that define it and help others recognize its citizens. Jesus taught that others will know we are His children by our love (John 13.35). Therefore, love serves as our identification card, distinguishing us as citizens of His kingdom.
After being born again and becoming a kingdom citizen, you will be tested, and this test will be a test of your love for God and others. Jehovah orchestrates good things and some seemingly not-so-good things into our lives so that Love can grow in us. Our wise God knows that fertilizing love takes positive and negative things, scenarios, and situations! The sad thing is that sometimes we don’t understand this, and we cry and complain and derail the work of God or should I say the love of God through our actions and behaviors.
I will state it this way. What is Christianity all about? It is about “The call to Love.” Firstly, it calls for loving God with your heart, mind, and soul and loving others. In loving others and our enemies, our initial response to hearing, noticing, and experiencing things (especially bad) with them must be love. In medical terms, we are the “First Responders” to heal and restore life with our medical toolkit of love.
In doing so, there will be a great reward. When our time on earth has ended, we gain access to God in Heaven for all eternity.
The Word of God states, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7). Therefore, if we sow love on Earth, we will reap the ultimate and purest form of love, full reconnection to God in Heaven and being with Him for all eternity. Isn’t that beautiful? 😊 Dane dances while typing.
Of course, the opposite applies, and if you remain on the side of sin, you will reap the reward of Hell when your time is up. So, your choice is easy: accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and live in love, for your life and the lives of others depend upon it.”

how can I love God who I cannot see, but hate my bro who I can see? Who are we to despise God’s image and likeness. We can never be effective witnesses for Christ if we don’t first love others. It will only be for eye service. If you have truly accepted that blood transfusion, which is C positive (Christ positive) you will carry His DNA which is pure unfeigned love. God bless
