I love learning new things and gaining knowledge. One reason is that I believe intelligence solves the world’s problems. When you have a problem, innovative and creative ways can be used to solve the dilemma in the best way possible. For instance, sometimes you need the intelligence to know that you should apply love to the situation instead of fighting directly. Other times, you need the intelligence to apply grit or patience to a problem to solve or resolve it instead of giving up too early.

I will go as far as to say that some people need intelligence to see that the birds, plants, animals, and earth are so unique and diverse that they must have been created by something great and powerful (Psalm 19:1-7, Romans 1:18-32) other than the theoretical big bang theory. Let me echo this, “the invisible things are clearly seen by examining the visible.” If we apply this knowledge, then we can solve the problem of sin once we accept Jesus as Lord and saviour.

Although in my own way, I like to say intelligence, and others might say things like wisdom, understanding, insight, etc . The Bible uses the word knowledge as can be seen in Hosea 4:6:

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”

At its core, this scripture relates to Godly knowledge; however, it can also apply to knowledge in general. For example, financial intelligence/literacy can help me solve my financial problems.  So, ignorance (not knowing) is what destroys us, Dane? Yes, my friend! Not knowing enough when we are supposed to know it destroys us.

I included that introduction about gaining and applying knowledge because I wanted to share some new learning that I got. If not new, it is a somewhat fresh way of interpreting and applying a familiar scripture.   The scripture is found in Romans 8:28:

“28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”.

Of course, this scripture has prerequisites for attaining it. You have to Love God (if you love Him, keep His commandments—John 14:15) and be called according to His purpose (born again – John 3:1-21). That aside, we will only focus on “… all things (everything) work together for your good”.

So, losing my job, getting sick, having conflicts with my boss, arguing with my neighbour, having problems with my children, and all the other bad things in my life are for my good.  Yes, it is! You have to trust the process and know that it’s good, not because the situation is good, but because you know God, and God is good.

We only see the now, and God sees eternity; coupled with the fact that He loves us, we are assured that it will end well. So, if we trust God, even in the present, when problems appear, we can think about the goodness at the end. Remember, God watches over His words to perform them (Jeremiah 1:12), and He is a God who cannot lie (Numbers 23:19,Titus 1:2,Hebrews 6:18), so we must learn to have faith and trust Him about the ending. This is what made biblical men great; they trusted and believed fully in God!

So, my big lesson from yesterday to today is this: Be careful how you label situations in your life. Or, put another way, when something happens in your life, make sure to label it good from inception. When we label something bad or negative, all our actions and emotions flow from that place and manifest themselves in poor behaviour, thus detaching us from connecting with God.

I am sure you can think back to a time when you spent tremendous time worrying, lamenting and even behaving poorly about a situation, only to realize that in the end, God turned it out for your good and to form Jesus Christ more in you.

Have you ever considered what would have happened if you had labeled that situation as good from inception and kept viewing it that way? The journey from pain to problem resolution would have been much more enjoyable. You would have been praising and dancing, rejoicing, praying differently and with expectations, and boasting about what God would do, all before the problem was resolved. That is what I call enjoying the journey and not just surviving to reach the destination.

Child of God, don’t label things as bad when God says they are good and rob yourself of an enjoyable journey. Speak the truth into your life, and that truth is, it will end well for you, and use that knowledge and expectation to propel you to victory from inception.

As God said in Psalm 84:1, “… no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Given this, we, as God’s children, must always think and believe that something GOOD is coming. Living with this mindset makes us cheerful, full of confidence, and unstoppable.

I will end here, as I intended not to make this blog too long. Take care, my friend. I encourage you to positively relabel situations in your life, trust God more, and “Don’t wait for the Outcome to Become.”
