Simple but great lesson. Mercy over sacrifice speaks about a position of love, humility and selflesness that causes us to overlook our rights, our position of justification or our opportunity to dispense or receive justice as one who was offended over the one who is the offender. Mercy, when viewed in the spirit of love and forgiveness should cause us to reflect on God’s gift in the person of Jesus Christ. Where we deserved nothing else but death for our sins, Jesus Christ took our place as a sacrifice by dying on the cross, so that God the father, through Him ( Jesus Christ) would have mercy on those who believe. St. John 3 vs 16. As we reflect upon this gesture/sacrifice of love, St. John 15 vs13, both the sacrifice and the mercy extended to us is unfathonable and so, we are inspired and motivated to do the same for those who we might have deemed as undeserving of our mercy. Mercy is best shown when it is activated and reciprocated..
