I don’t know what it is, but men seem to like to run away and turn their backs on God. God takes a step forward and we take a step backward. God says come my child and we turn and walk away. The outstretched loving arms of the father we ignore.
If this is currently you I don’t want you to beat up yourself to harshly thinking that you are the only one. The bible has examples of many men who ran way from God for one reason or another. But I can tell you this, no one who ever ran away from God succeeded in the end. NO ONE!
- Adam sinned and ran away from God and hid in some bushes.
- Jonah ran away from God and ended up in a violent storm and in the darkness of a fishes belly.
- Judas ran away and committed suicide.
- The prodigal son ran away and ended up being homeless and impoverished.
No man ever left God and prospered. If you have an example of someone who did then all I have to say is, “wait and give it some time, you will come to know differently.” WHEN A MAN LEAVES GOD THAT IS WHEN HIS TROUBLES BEGIN.
But I thank God today that He is merciful and gracious and His love is always abounding. When I feel I am too stink and dirty, or I have gone too far from Him, He keeps calling me back. As the song says the overwhelming Reckless Love of God is never ending.
The Father truly honours His word and leaves the 99 and goes after the one (ME, ME, ME). Again, again and again the Lord comes after us. Hallelujah! God runs behind the runaways.
Brothers and Sisters I encourage you today to don’t give up and run away. If you are thinking about it, get that thought out your head, for it was planted by the enemy. His goal is to permanently separate you from the Father. The devil wants to drive a wedge between you and God so deeply that you never desire to return. Don’t allow him to do that to you. Don’t allow him to make you reach a point of no return. Note I said don’t allow him, because we have the power to resist the enemy with the help of our God (James 4:7-10). If anyone should be doing any running away it is the devil, not us.
I encourage someone today to hold fast and remain unmoveable because victory still belongs to us (1 Corinthians 15:57-58).
I would like to keep this blog entry brief to allow this short video to do the majority of the talking for me. This video blessed me and I hope it does the same for you. Please watch.
Dane Miller was last seen with a megaphone saying to those who are running away in thought or have run away physically; “come back to God and live my brother/sister, come back to God and live”.

Dane, thank you for reminding us about God’s love for us. Too many ‘run away’ people are hurting and feel worthless and the only cure for that is the unconditional merciful forgiving love of our Saviour. God bless you my friend for writing.
